1.International students are defined as those who are neither citizens
of the Republic of China(*), nor Overseas Chinese. Those who have had
their R.O.C. nationality annulled for 8 years or more are eligible to
apply. This regulation does not apply to students of Hong Kong or Macao
residency.
2.International students who graduated from a high school,
college or university recognized by the Ministry of Education in the
R.O.C. can apply for the admission (please refer to the website
http://www.edu.te/). International students with a high school diploma are
eligible to apply for undergraduate programs; bachelor's degree holders
for Master's programs; Master's degree holders for doctoral
programs.
*According to Article 2 of the Law of Nationality, a
person who meets one of the following requirements acquires the
nationality of the Republic of China:
(1)a person whose father or
mother was, at the time of his/her birth, a citizen of the Republic of
China.
(2)a person born after the death of his/her father or mother who
was, at the time of his/her death, a citizen of the Republic of
China.
(3)a person born in the territory of the Republic of China and
whose parents are both unknown or are stateless.
(4)a naturalized
person.
The previous specified in sub-paragraphs (1)and (2)of the
proceding paragraph shall apply to minors on the date of the promulgation
of the amendment of his law.
